It's Time

We need context.

When Charlie Kirk died we felt it. We've been getting ready for months; but, this week we realized that events happening today had echoes of past events. We know that we have no context if the history we learned and saw is pushed behind walls. How can we survive as a people if we don't pursue the background and understanding that leads to why?

This week will culminate in an end to public mourning of Charlie Kirk. I saw a civic leader assassinated for having dialogues with young people about faith and politics for the first time in my lifetime. I don't remember Martin Luther King's assassination; however, I see both MLK and Mr. Kirk as spiritual leaders that understood the risks they faced. They knew they shook the establishment and probably would suffer horrible consequences. Both men stood for faith as well as truth and change. They showed us how to live and constructively work for change. It's time to follow that example and push for the change that has to happen. We greave with Charlie Kirk's family and pray for everyone feeling this loss to embrace that Charlie is now with Christ rooting for us to stand up and proclaim our faith.

Our Thoughts TV commits to push forward talking about topics like Faith, protests, human rights, slavery, and civic responsibility. How many of us have thought, "I don't like what's happening but someone else can handle this better than I?" Evil counts on us to absolutely embrace this idea. If you see a wrong, you have responsibility to stand up and call attention to what's happening. If you would hope that someone would come to your aid in the situation you're witnessing then you are the one that needs to stand up. As Christ said, "Love your neighbor as yourself." So often real change starts with one person. WE ALL are that person. WE ALL are the light and we need to spread it.

We open our hearts to God. We commit to Him that we will put our faith in Him to give us the strength to work toward God's will and our Nation's continued growth as a Christian Nation.
